The winter 2009-2010 brought us a really bad surprise as we lost nearly one hectare (about 2,5 acres) of Vosne-Romanée "Pré de le Folie" following the terrible frost (-21°C) of December 19th-20th 2009. This plot was pulled up in September 2010 and will only start producing again for the 2013 crop.
Moreover, the harshness of winter combined with the difficult flowering due to the rain, considerably reduced the yield of this 2010 vintage.
Harvesting started in late September and happened in cool autumnal conditions. The grapes were sound and the vinification occurred quietly, compared to the farming conditions which worry us every year. The 2010 wines enjoy good maturity and acidity levels which give them fullness and energy, reminding us of the generosity of 2009 and the precision of 2008.
