Echezeaux

A distinctive wine with elegance and complexity.

• Characteristics

  The wine offers a beautiful deep red colour.
  The nose is very elegant. It expands scents of raspberries, well-matured cherries and spices.
  The mouth is fresh, refined and very elegant.

• Terroir

  There are two parcels: Les Rouges du Bas et Les Quartiers de Nuits, both with a deep soil consisting of gravel and silt.

• Origin

  Echezaux derives from the Latin word for "buildings," thus revealing the presence of gallo-roman ruins. Jeanne and André Mugneret acquired Les Quartiers de Nuits in 1930, and added Les Rouges du Bas in 1934.

• Ageing

  From five to twenty years. It is one of three grand crus that will be appreciated the most rapidly.
