Spring frosts of an unusual importance swept across Burgundy

The frost which hit the vineyards on April 27th was of an unequalled extent.
It will take a few weeks to assess the real damages.
The area of Chambolle-Musigny, especially Les Feusselottes, as well as Echezeaux and Clos Vougeot, are affected over 80%.
The sector of Nuits-Saint-Georges has also been severely hit. Only the Bourgogne and Vosne-Romanée have been partly spared...
In this unusual situation (the last important frosts date back to 1981), we have to wait some time to see whether the vegetation can start again on the most damaged stocks.
It is obvious that this potential second budding out will be less fruitful and that the production will be considerably affected...
