A return to origins... Born in Algeria, Jacqueline was raised in a winemaking culture thanks to her grandfather - from Béarn in southwestern France – who was a winemaker on the slopes of Medea in the Atlas Mountains. At that time, Jacqueline was little interested in winemaking and became a schoolteacher after graduating from the Ecole Normale in Algers. She would meet Georges Mugneret during the war in Algeria and follow him to France, where she worked in the French school system until 1968. Gradually she shouldered more of the work of the domain with her husband, who continued to exercise his two chosen professions, and thus became more and more involved in the family domain. Burgundy conquered her heart. She had put down roots, and so decided after Georges’ death to continue working the domain with her two daughters. She adopted Burgundy definitively. With calm, determination, and perpetual good humor she was fully equipped to continue the family tradition. It is she who keeps up the morale of the troops, and who would be loathe to miss a visit from the many faithful customers who follow the generations and the vintages...
A dream come true... Born nine years after Marie-Christine, her childhood and adolescence were cradled by the vines and the wine. Thrilled to see her grandfather "make the wine," even when very young she dreamed of taking over the family domain with her father. Tragically, she was only 20 when her father died, and she thought her dream would disappear as well, but she was reassured when her sister decided to take up the challenge with their mother. She continued her university studies in oenology and joined her mother and her sister in 1992 after she earning the National Oeonology Diploma, and continued to learn winemaking at the domain. She married Loïc Nauleau in 1992, a native of the Vendée (on the Atlantic coast of France), who followed her to Burgundy to live. Loïc and Marie-Andrée have two daughters as well: Marion, born in 1994, and Fanny, born in 1997. Although her studies in wine brought her to its exploitation, today Marie-Andrée is particularly responsible for both the cultivation and business management. As does her sister, she takes great pleasure finding moments in her busy day to greet the domain’s faithful customers.
From pharmacy to oenology... Born in 1959, she followed her father into the medical field, obtaining in 1983 her doctorate in Pharmacy with a thesis entitled "Wine – Is it a Medicine?" At the beginning of 1988, when her father became ill once again, she returned to the domain to help, and decided with her mother and her sister to work the domain. Her husband, Eric Teillaud – also a pharmacist – helped them with the vinification in addition to his professional pharmacological research while awaiting the return of Marie-Andrée. Even though "making the wine" had been part of her vocabulary since she was very young, and her degree in pharmacy gave her the chemical background for wine, she nevertheless took technical oenology courses at the University of Dijon. Marie-Christine has two daughters – Lucie, born in 1985, and Clemence, born in 1991. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée share complete responsibility for the vinification of the wine. Over the course of the year, Marie-Christine supervises maturation and vinification, and takes particular care with the bottling, which occurs at the domain itself.
